A good ghost story doesn't have to be scary, or even serious;
this one is absolutely hilarious. Ricky Gervais stars
as a misanthrope dentist whose near-death experience results
in his ability to see ghosts, or at least those having
unfinished business in Manhattan.
The Imprisoned Splendor
The story of a gifted but self-absorbed professor
whose life in a marriage of convenience comes to an abrupt end when he dies in a plane crash.
To his amazement he finds he's still alive — more alive than ever. Under the guidance of his grandparents, he gradually gets used to his ethereal body and the strange laws, landscapes, cities, and fellow inhabitants of
his spirit world. Then he is assigned the task of rescuing a former girlfriend who had committed suicide when he rejected her.
Under the Inquisition: An Experience Revealed
In the mid-1970s, regression therapist Linda Tarazi was introduced to L.D., who gave a detailed description of her life in Spain during the Inquisition. Casting the account in narrative form, replete with 130 footnotes, Tarazi describes L.D.'s life during that time and captures the woman's emotional state in a story that reads like a steamy romance novel.
This is a racy story about James and Marnie winning millions on the Big Lottery. It's about what they do with their winnings, and what it does to them. It's about romance, seduction, greed and treachery. Also featured is a psychic detective helping to trace a crook, and the quest of James to discover whether this man can provide empirical proof of the Afterlife.
It is about the nature of reality, finding fulfilment, and why we are here.
